HARO Parquet - the first brand to be 100% PEFC certified

PEFC label now also for individual products

Since 1 May 2010, Hamberger is the first major manufacturer to label all the HARO parquet floors as “100% PEFC” certified. Germany's leading parquet manufacturer provides its distributors with another key selling point for high-quality brand floors “made in Germany”. End consumers can tell at a glance that the floors are natural products, made from raw materials that are 100% sourced from certified, sustainably managed forests.

Hamberger Flooring, which has been PEFC certified since 2002, purchases more than 90% of its timber within Europe. This way, the company supports the regional forestry and reduces environmentally damaging transports at the same time. Hamberger's hardwood sawmill established in Kleinostheim near Aschaffenburg in 2007 largely covers the growing need for raw materials in the company's parquet production plants in Rosenheim. Hamberger has thus also become one of the largest hardwood sawmilling companies in Germany. The timber used in production comes from sustainable sources, which also means that the amount of timber harvested does not exceed the regeneration rate of the forest.

PEFC stands for "Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes" and was established by the PEFC Council (PEFCC) in 1999. PEFC Deutschland e.V. is a member of the PEFC International umbrella organisation and responsible for the certification process in Germany.
